About Us
Our Vision and Mission
At Expressions English Services, we’re dedicated to helping migrants and cross-cultural workers master English for effective communication. We offer quality teaching and practical, affordable resources for learners and teachers.
Our Story
After several years working and living in Thailand, I (Margaret - Director) recognise the real challenges of adapting to a new language and culture. I’m passionate about empowering others in their language journey and creating a supportive community. Teaching English helps me connect with the international community and makes a real difference in people’s lives.
Meet Margaret Maisey - Director
With over 25 years of teaching experience, I’ve taught in and managed language schools in Auckland and co-ordinated English training in Thailand. My teaching is practical and tailored to real-life situations, grounded in the Communicative Approach to language teaching.
I also hold the Diploma in English Language Teaching to Adults from Cambridge University and a Master of Arts in Intercultural Studies.
Our Services
Small Group English Classes
$65 per week (2 x 90 min classes )
$60 per week in a 12 week package*
* Price is for automatic payment plan
Join a group class to learn English in a fun, supportive learning environment.
3 levels:
Level 1 - For those new to English or still
needing to master the basics.
Level 2 - Practical English for daily life
and work in New Zealand.
IELTS - Academic or General Test
12 week courses - 2 lessons per week.
Private Tuition
$45 per hour lesson
$40 per lesson* in a 12 lesson pack.

Face-to-Face One-on-One Classes Enjoy personalised instruction at our learning centre in Whangarei. This option is available for any level, and tailored to your needs

Online One-on-One Classes Classes are conducted via video call. Note: Online classes are not available for beginners, unless you speak Thai.
Basic Thai for Kiwis
$25 per week (1 x 75 min class)
$22 per week in a 10 week package* *Price is for automatic payment plan
Many Thai people living in New Zealand are married to Kiwis. If that's you, come join some others and learn enough to order food, and be polite to Thai relatives when visiting!
